Construction Works Begins On Akyem Oda Market

Reconstruction of the Akyem Oda Central Market is progressing steadily as contractors work around the clock to meet its stipulated eighteen month completion date.   

The facility has erected on its foundation concreted pillars with other constructions hastening on site to allow contractors handover the market to traders and the Municipal assembly.  

Fire ravaged properties and stalls about two years ago at the Akyem Oda Central market on 13th September, 2021.

Lauding the contractors, Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda constituency, Alexander Akwasi Acquah could not emphatically state the date for completion. 

However, he believes the market would complete with a short period given the speed at which the contractors are working.  

The legislator donated street lamps to the workers to aid them when working at night. 

Rumours

He debunked claims of the market project not seeing any foundational commencement as speculated by some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). 

He says they are blatant falsehood. 

Mr. Alexander Akwasi Acquah cautioned the NDC against usurping power through peddling unsubstantiated claims of the market project not commencing.

Appeal

He appealed to the constituents especially market women to remain positive and resolute as the market will be in no time commissioner for reuse. 

“I will ensure that the contractor keeps to his promise of completing the project on time as has he adopted the strategy of working both day and night,” he said. 

He appealed to residents to support the ruling party with assurance of getting them their fair share of development.

He said a lot of projects have been lined-up for the municipality which at the appropriate time they will be implemented.
