E/R: Man Gets 10-years Sentence For Robbing Ahenkan FM’s Staff.

The Akim Swedru circuit court Presided over by Justice Owuai has sentenced 28-year-old coconut seller to 10 years imprisonment for robbing a Broadcast Journalist at Akyem Aboabo in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern region.
According to report, On Friday 11th June, 2021, around 9:15pm, a 28years young man called Nurudeen attacked Afia Ampofowaa news editor of Ahenkan FM a subsidiary of Odi Media Network.
The victim, Afia Ampofowaa explaining her ordeal hinted that, she was on her way home after work whilst the latter pounced on her claded in boxers.
so she wanted to run for her dear life but got kicked from aback and fell down with force and the convict pounced on her. He snatched her phone and run away with it without seeing his face and made her returned to where she work with bruises on her face to report what has happened .
According to her, “I met some boys downstairs and explain to them, a guy called Poison with two other guys went to where the incident happened and search for him”.
One of the guys who chased the snatcher explained how they grabbed the convict, ” when we got to the place, he and the other guys started to play tricks with the alleged person not knowing he was still in the bush so when they caught him they wanted to make it boys boys thing but the alleged person became furious and attacked me first with a punch on my face so I also returned the punch back to him on the mouth, face and blood started oozing out of his mouth because every blow coming from me must give you a bruise or blood must come from that place”.
He was taken to the number -9 police station at Akyem Oda where he admitted the offence in his caution statement and was charged after investigation.
