Fatawu Mohammed Suspended By Hearts Of Oak

The Capital based club has announced the suspension of their captain for unsportsmanlike behavior at the club since last month.
Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak have officially suspended Fatawu Mohammed for two weeks following gross misconduct. The 29-year-old right-back, who recently extended his contract with the Phobians, has exempted himself from the club’s training activities since December 2021 for unknown reasons. In his absence, the management of Hearts of Oak has appointed Mohammed Alhassan as an interim skipper until further notice. The club’s official statement reads “We wish to inform fans of the club and the general public that captain – Fatawu Mohammed has been suspended from the senior team for 2 weeks for violating the terms of his contract.” “During the period of the suspension, he will be required to train with the junior team.” “In his absence, Mohammed Alhassan will act as captain. The player has been engaged and the implications of his actions and the reasons behind the punishment have been explained to him.” Fatawu has been ushered by the club to commence training with the club’s youth side, Auroras FC for the next fourteen days. Hearts of Oak are currently preparing for their FA Cup game against Division One League outfit Golden Kicks FC on Wednesday.
