Francis Eshun And Two Others Arrested For Faking Kidnapping In Takoradi

The Takoradi Divisional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested three people for faking a kidnap in the Western Region.

The two of the arrested persons are alleged to have been complicit in Joana Krah’s falsification of a kidnap aimed at taking a ransom of GH¢5,000 from her adopted father.

This unfortunate incident comes a few weeks after an alleged pregnant woman also faked a kidnap on her, having made folks believe she has been pregnant for nine solid months.

A communiqué issued by the police on Monday, October 25 said the three will be processed for court.

The three persons are chief architect Joana Krah, 29, and her accomplices Susanna Awortwe, 27, and Francis Eshun, 27.

“When Joana became aware that her adopted father had reported to the Police and an extensive search had commenced to find her, she showed up at the Takoradi Central Police Station, Saturday, October 23, to confess of only joking with her adopted father shat she was kidnapped,” the police said in their statement.

The general public has, consequently, been admonished to eschew the act of faking kidnapping for monetary purposes.

The Ghana police described the act as criminal.

“Such perpetrators will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the state,” the police warned.
