Ghana Will Cease To Exist, If 2022 “Agyenkwa” Budget Not Approved By December 31 – Sir John To Ghanaians

In the context of post-pandemic recovery, the Minister for Finance, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta, presented the 2022 Budget Statement on November 17, 2021, with the theme, “Building a Sustainable Entrepreneurial Nation: Fiscal Consolidation and Job Creation.”

The Budget outlines the government’s plan to sustain the recovery efforts from the socio-economic impact of the pandemic and get the country quickly back on its pre-pandemic growth trajectory and a sustainable debt path. It also outlines the strategies to address one of the major problems facing the country, which is youth unemployment. Furthermore, it outlines the government’s efforts to improve the quality of living standards while ensuring peace and security.

An NPP Regional Medical Team member and Patron of NPP Crusaders, Mr. John Kwame  Duodu, has disclosed that the budget rejection by the speaker, Hon. Alban Sumani Kingsford Bagbin, and the minority in Parliament go against economic factors and developments in the country next year.

In an interview with Ahenkanfmonline.com he made it clear that the budget, dubbed “Agyenkwa,” was meant to bring massive developments in the areas of education, health, trade, and industry and improve the livelihoods of Ghanaians, among others, and needed no rejection.

It is high time we, as a country, stop doing everything with propaganda and be serious as a country. In this country, we complain and talk a lot. We want everything to be free, we want roads, we want quality healthcare, portable water, electricity power to be constant, and a whole lot more. The 2022 “Agyenkwa” Budget is here to solve some of our problems for us, and here we are complaining.

He believes the rejection of the 2022 budget may have serious implications on government spending and disbursements.

Sir John explained that the Speaker, the NDC, and some Ghanaians are saying that the 2022 Agyenkwa Budget should be rejected and voted out; if so, the budget is rejected and voted out, and God forbid, where will the 700,000 public servants whose salaries, aspirations, and hope are based on this budget be if they do not receive their salaries? Why are some Ghanaians and NDC supporters calling for the budget to be rejected? I continue to believe that we cannot do everything with politics and must face reality.

Again, Ghanaians must know that in this Agyenkwa Budget, 1.2 million Ghanaian children are in school under the FREE SHS (FSHS) and they are threatening to vote against this budget. This means that the 2.7 billion Ghana cedis that has been allocated for FSHS cannot happen.

This same Agyenkwa Budget also allocated 3.5 million Ghanaian children are going to be fed under the school feeding programme in this budget. I am asking Ghanaians what is going to be the fate of these 3.5 million Ghanaian children and 1.2 million children under Free SHS. Where are they going to get their daily bread and nursing and teacher trainees’ allowances amounting to 500 million Ghana Cedis? We, as Ghanaians, should be thanking His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and the NPP government for taking Ghana out of its slump.

He explained that with the rejection of this budget, where and how the government gets money for salaries and wages for public sector workers and other stakeholders, allowances would be withheld, and funding for the government’s flagship programmes such as Planting for Food and Jobs, Rearing for Food and Jobs, Planting for Export and Rural Development, One District One Factory, One District One Ambulance, among others, NABCO and other social intervention programmes initiated by His Excellencies Nana Akuffo Addo and Dr. Bawumia and the NPP government will be at a standstill and there will be no progress at all.

He continually stressed that people who are rejoicing because of the rejection are not well informed as the country is being polluted with NDC propaganda and should assess the budget very well to influence their judgement.

Sir John concluded that the budget was for the betterment of the country.

Ghanaians must and should support the 2022 Agyenkwa Budget for our common good and we must pray and appreciate His Excellencies Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia and their administration to deliver Ghana, our country and motherland, to the promised land. Insha’Allah, we will be there soon.

I entreat all Ghanaians to go through the 2022 Agyenkwa Budget and if you do not understand, seek professional advice and stop listening to the NDC and their propoganda.

Mr. John Kwame Duodu
