Members of the Health Service Workers Union (HSWU) have declared an indefinite strike to protest their working conditions.
The strike, which is with immediate effect, seeks to get the government to work on better working conditions for the members of the association.
Speaking to Obouba Ofori Amanfo on Ahenkan FM’s “Maakye morning Show” , the Ashanti Region Chairman of the Union, , Mr. Emmanuel Gyamfi Osei, bemoaned the government’s failure to coerce the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to better their working conditions.
“Our employers have put us too tight to the wall. We entreat members to stay resolute, fearless, focus and united to fight until all the union demands are met,” Abraham Amoh Raymond added.
Services affected by the indefinite strike include records, mortuary, orderly, security, IT, maintenance, estates etc.
