MATCH REPORT: Ghana’s World Cup Qualification Chances Thrown In Doubt After Being Held By Ethiopia In Johannesburg
The Walia Ibexes of Ethiopia held the Black Stars of Ghana to a 1-1 stalemate at the Orlando Stadium in match-day five of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers

It has been the Ethiopians all over doing all they could to get their equaliser, after Hotessa set up Shimeles Bekele but his short was saved by the goalkepper. It finished 1-0 at half time. In the second half, the Walia Ibexes came really strong attacking from all angles but the resolute Ghanaian defence always quick to tidy up.
On the 57th minute, Shimeles Bekele again tried going for glory but his effort went off the upright. Nearly! Daniel Amartey almost committed a howler after his back pass nearly resulted in an own goal after misplacing Jojo Wollacott but he quickly reacted to get onto the ball to stop the threat. The Black Stars have been off and just chasing shadows in the second half, watching their opponents do much of the possession.
Ethiopia at long last got themselves back on level terms. Abubeker Nassir pounced on Joseph Aidoo’s mistake to set up captain Getaneh Kebede who placed into the roof of the post.
