New Sensation Abdul Fatawu Issahaku Confident Of Ghana’s 2021 Afcon Winning Chances

Promising forward, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku believes Ghana has what it takes to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] title.

Ghana had won the tournament last time in 1982 has struggled to annex the ultimate for the past 39 years.

The Black Stars have however come close to winning the trophy in 1992, 2010, and 2015.

Ghana exited at the Round of 16 at the last edition hosted in 2019 in Egypt.

The former Steadfast FC winger in an interview with Kumasi-based Kessben FM saidGhana has got quality players over the years but he is much confident in the current squad.

“Ghana has always got quality players but I trust in the current team,” the 19-year-old who was named Best Player of the CAF U-20 Championship hosted Mauritania said.

“Everyone in the team is ready to win the African Cup so I think everyone will give out his all to take the cup.

“Actually, the target is to win the cup because at the U-20 level that was the target and we achieved it. So, I think with the senior side, they have everything that can help Ghana to win the trophy and have the confidence that we can win the trophy,” he added.

Issahaku who joined Dreams FC on loan prior to the start of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season has been impressive for the club scoring some impressive goals.

He was named in Black Stars squad for their final round of games during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers last month.
