Several People Have Died In Apiate Explosion – NADMO

The Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has confirmed that several people have died Francis Abeiku Yankah said the gas explosion in Apenti near Bogoso in the Western Region ripped through a community.
He confirmed to the media on Thursday January 20 that several people have died following the explosion.
An eye witnesses also recounted his experience regarding that gas explosion.
In his narration, he said human bodies were mutilated, buildings and other structures were completely destroyed following the explosion.
“It is as if we are in a war torn country,” he said.
Rescue efforts had been intensified following the incident.
A motorised tricycle, popularly known as Aboboyaa, is said to have collided with a fuel tanker, causing the disaster.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has issued an “emergency public notice” announcing the incident as “a huge explosion”.
